What is Points of Interest (POI)?

In fact, "Points of interests" means locations of various necessary objects (petrol stations, restaurants, hotels and etc) on the map which you can pass by or approach while moving with a navigator. Or more exactly, every navigation program provides a search function. Using this function we can find required object by address or the approximity to a place where you are. Also you can manually set point and move in automatic mode. For example: we set a meeting with someone at "Goja Palid" restaurant. We don't rememberor know where the restaurant is located. In this case we activate search function and enter the name of the restaurant, following which gives us the list with addresses and phones of this and other restaurants located in neighboring area.

This service is well known and widely used in Europe and America. Currently, this service is provided in Azerbaijan by "Caspian NavTel" only. It is important to keep regular update to maintain actuality of the base of points of interest. Every time map should be completed with the new points with a basic data e.g. address and phone. The information shall be constantly checked and updated accordingly. Attractive but at the same time complicated thing of points of interest is its different affect on different people. For example: some people are mostly interested in notarial offices and at the same time others are interested in car repair stations. Interest of tourists can be attracted with historical monuments, places of interest, cinemas. These points of interest can be also added by users of navigation device. To do that you shall select points of interest in appropriate menu and enter necessary notes. Hence we give you our experience and receive the experience of travel-lovers.
